MORNING MEDITATION

“Life is this simple: We are living in a world that is absolutely transparent and the divine is shining through it all the time. This is not just a nice story or a fable, it is true.”— Thomas Merton

Chalice offers a morning meditation every Tuesday (except Public Holidays) @ 7:30 am

The practice of Meditation quietly invites us to centre ourselves through posture, breathing and silence. Over recent years regular meditation practice has been proven to have a beneficial effect on both physiological and psychological health.

“Meditation aims to harmonise mind, body and spirit, by enabling a deep connection with self and the other. Meditation is not new as a practice, it is deeply grounded in all major faith traditions”— John Main, OSB

All sessions are held in the chapel space.

Each session is 30 minutes in length including 20 minutes sitting time. Followed by tea and coffee. All are welcome.

Entry to all these sessions is by donation.

Rev. Peter Batten, Chalice's minister, is a meditation practitioner, teacher and Creative Arts therapist. Contact Peter for more info.

“The all important aim of Christian meditation is to allow God`s mysterious and silent presence within us to become more and more not only a reality, but the reality which gives meaning shape and purpose to everything we do, to everything we are..”
