As 2023 draws to a close, we have a natural tendency to reflect on the year that has passed, and to look ahead to the year to come. One resource which can support prayerful reflection is the Great Annual Examen (attached), based on Ignatius of Loyola's method for daily reflection on how one has experienced God. Stephen W. Smith, who created the Great Annual Examen, recommends taking time to engage with this slowly and prayerfully, perhaps in the days between Christmas and New Year. I have found this practice very illuminating in recent years and commend it to you!
